IN THIS ISSUE:

3. Summer CD sale (limited time only) on Cdbaby.com
4. Upcoming shows and tours
5. Dave in the studio
6. Dave's music featured on two benefit CDs & a compilation
7. Flatpick guitar magazine online - cool resource for guitarists
8. Update on my slacker brothers...
9. Contact information.

1. It's been a busy few months since my last newsletter, though not
quite so much touring as usual. Hope the spring has been good for you
wherever in the world you are -- this list has been getting more and
more international lately! Summer here in Northern California has
been hot and smoky (we've had lots of wildfires all over the state).

2. The biggest announcement in this newsletter is the creation of a
new site just for you -- the people who are kind of enough to take an
interest in my music and join my email list. On the new site --
www.davenachextras.com you can check out video clips from
performances, both very recent and old, solo and with Al Stewart and
other friends, unreleased songs, pictures and text, all FREE!
However, this is not for the general public. It is password
protected, and I will change the password once in a while. Please
keep your info current on the list, as I will announce any password
changes in my newsletters. (...). Have fun -- and if you
have a video clip or photo or recording of me that you think would go
well there, please feel free to email me at dave(at)davenach.com!

3. To help lift you out of the summer doldrums, I'm putting several
of my CD titles on sale until Labor Day weekend on CDBaby.com. If you
go to davenach.com and visit the CD page, check out special pricing on
"Candy Shower" and "Snapshots -- Live!" and "Holy Smokes -- Ice Cream
for Breakfast" and even "Threads of Time!" Do your Xmas and Chanukah
shopping really early this year.

4. For latest information and details on upcoming shows and tours,
check the schedule on www.davenach.com, but here's a summary:

7/10 -- Saratoga Springs, NY
7/11 -- Cambridge, MA
7/13 -- Bridgewater, NJ
7/19 -- Dunsmuir, CA
8/2 -- Moses Lake, WA
8/23 -- San Juan Capistrano, CA
8/31 -- Sausalito, CA
9/11 -- Eugene, OR
9/13 -- Seattle, WA
9/14 -- Portland, OR

Then it's off to Holland and Germany for October and part of November
-- see www.davenach.eu for details and a map!

5. I have been working with Jeff Simons and Lee Madeloni (who play
bass and drums respectively) on the third CD with the Silcock Family
(this is the family with over 40 adopted sons -- see
www.allourboys.com). There is a brief studio clip on the "Extras"
site! Britt Miller's CD is coming along, and Bruce Kalter and I have
co-written so many songs that we are considering releasing a full
length CD. In between all of this, I have recorded some fun and
interesting custom songs for people, and would love to do more.

6. Some recent CDs have featured some of my songs, including a
wonderful compilation project called "Shelter Me" (visit
www.weedpatchrecordings.com) which has "Flying a Sign" (from my
"Certain Distance" CD) on it. One of my previously unreleased songs
("Too Much Water") is going to be featured on an audioplay CD in
Germany called "Hast du Angst?" due out in a several months. Also,
the city of Ramsey, NJ is celebrating their Centennial this year and
will be putting out a CD featuring mostly local artists, but it will
be book ended by two songs written in workshops led by me last Fall!
(See www.ramseyfineartscouncil.com for more info).

7. Since I know many of you on the list are guitarists and guitar
enthusiasts, I want to let you know about a magazine I've discovered
called "Flatpicking Guitar Magazine." Check out their website at
www.flatpick.com.

8. Here's an update for anyone who has been following my two
brothers' adventures. Brother Michael (bass player) argued his first
case before the Supreme Court (of the US) back in October -- and won!
Meanwhile, Jeffrey (drummer) is wrapping up postproduction on the
movie that he wrote and directed ("Traitor") which will be released on
August 27! For more info see www.traitor-themovie.com.

9. Whether or not we'll meet up at any of my upcoming concerts and
workshops, I like to hear your thoughts and comments and suggestions
and general news. Please respond to this e-mail, or e-mail me directly
(dave(at)davenach.com) or call me at 530-757-1021, or use postal mail to
P.O. Box 4111, Davis, CA 95617.

THANKS! I HOPE TO SEE YOU SOON!

Dave
